VIntage Ajrakh Kantha - DIAMONDS

Sale price$360.00
Size:

Vintage ajrakh kantha  - large scale art, geometric throw, bedcover. A bohemian statement that works well balanced against neutral solids.

Combining two traditional textile crafts: ajrakh block printing and Kantha running-stitch embroidery

Ajrakh Printing: Originating mainly in Kutch, Gujarat and Rajasthan, Ajrakh is an intricate block-printing method using natural vegetable dyes like indigo and madder. It features deep blues, earthy reds, and geometric grid patterns.

Kantha Stitching: Rooted in Bengal, rural artisans layer soft recycled cotton fabrics and bind them with continuous, delicate running rows of thread - thousands of fine hand stitches.

Aged Character: Authentic pieces display visible wear, minor patches, and softening fabrics that reflect their history. These pieces are vintage, and tell the story of their age - part of the beauty and character of  hand stitched vintage fabric, to be embraced and celebrated.

Appreciating Uniqueness: As they are made from recycled or vintage components, no two  or textiles share the exact same pattern arrangement or stitching path.

Washing Instructions:

  • Hand Wash Only: Submerge in cold water. Avoid washing machines.
  • Mild Detergent: Use pH-neutral liquid soap. Avoid harsh chemical detergents.
